1600 files? That's the problem right there...

A quick way to transfer applications and games is to just turn them into Xbox iso files using Quix, then transferring them to the Xbox with Quix and Avalaunch.

If you aren't sure what I'm referring to, here's a guide that explains it quite well.

Check under preferences/speed limit using FlashFXP. You should be able to do 170mb in under a minute.
By the way, i had the same problem, FlashFXP had a limited transfer speed set, i don't know why.

Click F6 and look for speed limits
Check the box that says disable speed limit for LAN tranfers
If you are not using a LAN you can set the speed limit for uploads and downloads.

It isn't a problem with speed...

The problem with using an FTP client is that they don't perform well with tons of small files. It has to start a new transfer everytime a file is transfered. So even though you could be transferring at say, 600 KB/sec, that doesn't mean much when you're transferring over a thousand one megabyte files and the delay between transfers takes longer than the transfer itself.

Unlike a traditional FTP client, there isn't a delay with Quix. Also, it's custom made to work specifically with Avalaunch for even quicker transfers. For example, I use Quix to transfer XBMC whenever I update it. XBMC is around 140 megabytes, but it's made up of many small files. If I use FTP, it can take about 30 minutes. Whenever I use Quix, it only takes about five minutes to create an iso and transfer it to my Xbox.
