Archos AV 500 - WMP/iTunes

Hi all

I have just changed from an iPod to an Archos AV500. I have obviously used iTunes in the past and now need to use Windows Media Player. A lot of my music is in the .m4a format which appears not to be recognised by WMP. Certainly when I try to play an .m4A file on the AV500 it is not recognised. However, if I select the file and "Open With" WMP on my computer it plays fine? Anyone know any reasons for this anomoly?

Also, any good tips with regards to WMP and the Archos? I have converted some files from .m4a to .mp3, however, this is going to be a long process and it loses the naming conventions. Looking for shortcuts basically.

Finally, anyone know how to convert protected .m4a files? i.e. the files I have downloaded via iTunes. If I've paid for them, I want to play them on my new toy!
