With dorm room space being limited I want to use my ps2 on my computer monitor. I have the external ati tv wonder for recording my tv shows; however when you play the ps2 through this there's a very small delay between when you press the button and when something happens on the screen. It doesn't totally ruin the gameplaying experience but it is annoying. I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a good (yet somewhat cheap) vga box for my monitor. I use s-video out on the ps2. If it has component video input that would definitely be a perk. Monitor is 1280x1024. Thanks.

I have looked into it and you have issues to deal with when converting Video be it Svid,HD or composite to a PC monitor you will spend 100+ on a device no matter if its USB,PCI or a external box, depending on your chances to get a 360,PS3 or even a WII or a HD video player you might want to go with a external device but the most important thing is that it can handle High def,why high def because if it can handle that and dose normal video the normal video will be closer to or better than a TV.

You can also pick up a GameBridge instead of a $100 VGA adapter. I have been using the device for a month now and it works pretty good as long as I do expand the screen to the full size of my 20" wide screen monitor. It is only 19.99 at Fryes. Good temp solutioon until you pick up a 360 or PS3

Oh? I am running on year old info, dose gamebridge translate the signal well?

from what I have seen delays and iffy picture quality are the main troubles of most cheap adapters.

The picture is not all that great, but for those who are just looking for a temp solution until they pic up a 360 or PS3 it works good enough to get you by. I meant to say it works good if I do not maximize the screen to full size. It get grainy there is a little delay with online play. Cheap solution for those looking to save a dime and put it towards a new system.
