need help fix my modded xbox

i have had a mod chip in my xbox for a few years now w/ over 30 games backed up on my harddrive. along w/ the games i had a program that let me play dvd's w/o the use of the xbox dvd player thing that you had to buy. the program i had was avalaunch, which worked great. recently i put the movie van helsing in to watch and it began to load xbox live. now when i start my xbox, avalaunch dosn't load and the main xbox screen loads with the three options, not sure what they are off hand. i think that my box is skipping avalaunch and loading the default xbox screen when no disc is present. how can i get my box to load avalaunch like it usualy did. i can't play any of my games and can't seem to find a way around this problem. i was like 88% through GTA San Andreas and i've pissed i can't finish it. any help is appreciated, thanks

Bummer. Van Helsing must be one of those movies with an Xbox mini-game included.
Since you have a mod chip, it won't be too difficult to fix.
Download Slayer's or AID and have it reinstall a hacked dashboard for you. Slayer's installs EvoX as the default dashboard whereas AID has several to choose from. Unfortunately, I can't remember if it'll install Avalaunch as a default dash or not.
You may have to install EvoX as your dashboard and swap it out for EvoX afterwards.

thanks for the help, one problem tho. i am not the one who put the chip in the xbox. how do i put a new program on my box and make everything work again?

Go on one of the popular torrent sites like Mininova or The Pirate Bay and download Slayer's Autoinstaller. Should come as a RAR archive that you need to extract to get an iso. Burn it to a DVD-R and run it on your Xbox. Since you're using an upgraded hard drive, you need to choose the option that installs the dash and apps for Xboxs with upgraded hard drives.
Slayer's installs EvoX though, so once you get that installed we'll help you switch it back to Avalaunch.

venom, i tried to DL the autoinstaller but my comp didn't recognize the file, it was only 12kb or something small like that. i went to thepiratesbay to get it, the other side wanted me to pay, haha. im begining to get upset 'cause i havn't been able to play any of my games in over a month now, not to mention i can't watch any dvds either. any other sugestions that i can try?

12 kb? You probably have the torrent file, correct? Install utorrent and use that to download the actual file.
Basically, once you install utorrent just open the torrent file with it and follow the on screen prompts.
