An old subject and a new problem: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S: Vers. BGS4

So about a week ago I downloaded some game creation software. I was away from my computer and burnt the contents onto a DVD()R. When I tried to retrieve the contents from my own home computer; nothing was found on the DVD. I at first thought the recorder/reader was a different version than my own until I took one of my home movies to the computer where I downloaded and burnt from... the movie played fine on that computer and my home computer but for some reason I can't read, open, see, view or even arrange the file in "my computer." I haven't had any problems with my DVD+R/DVD+RW drive until now.

Does anyone know what this problem is and how it can be solved?
Updating the firmware and driver didn't help.
