alright, I read the other posts on upgrading the bios, but I'm still not sure how to do it, what do I choose on the slayer's disk to upgrade my bios. Can I do this with out opening my xbox/reflashing the chip (matrix)? where do I put the bios in the c drive? by the way I want to install X2 4976.02 noani red bios, if that will work with my chip.
thx

I have slayer's v 2.1 and the only options I see are for the onboard TSOP and a 1mb bios, which the matrix chip doesnt support. I edited my evox.ini file to include an option to flash the bios; all you have to do is ftp it from the c: drive to your computer, open it in notepad, and add this line within the section for "System Management": Item "Flash BIOS",@1

Ftp the edited evox.ini file to your xbox (overwriting the old one), then put a folder on the xbox c: drive for your bios's (named "bios"), and store all the bios files in it. Make sure the chip is in edit mode (4) (orange light, both switches off) and you can do it there. Its not as complicated as it sounds, and it makes flashing the chip a lot easier. Any questions, ask.

what do u mean ftp the edited evox to ur xbox, can't u just edit it on the xbox, through flashfxp? And I just write in "Item "Flash BIOS",@1"? or does the @1 stand for something? Also what do I put in the Bios folder, the new, old or both? and what do I do to flash the bios onto the chip?
thx again

Dude Ssswwweeeetttt! My dashboard came with the flash option. I just added the bios I wanted to switch to into the bios folder on my c drive. When I select the option on the dash to flash (hey that rhymes) it lets me pick which bios to use. It's that simple!

well what i meant was that you need to change a couple of lines in the evox.ini file so that the option to flash the chip from the dashboard appears, and the only place to edit it line by line is on your PC. Just ftp it your PC, add that line (just put that line in like it is) like i said, then put the evox.ini file back on your xbox, overwriting the one currently on there. That option should appear under "System Management" now. In that folder, just put any of the 256k bios files you may want to use (like the X2 or the evox), and you should be ready to flash the chip from evolutionX. Just make sure you have the chip in write mode. All this is assuming you use evolutionX, and just as a precaution, make a backup of your evox.ini file. More questions, just ask.
