Ok I am not new to burning dvd's so I am pretty pissed I am having trouble at this point. I have been trying to burn Freedom Land and Slient Hill for about 2 weeks now. I when I try to use AnyDVD and dvdclone I get a error, when I got to use Ripit4me and use wizard mode to setup the PSL I get a error and program shuts down. When I try to use DVD Decrypter by itself I get a bunch of errors and when I try to use dvdfad I get "failed to get dvd information". I got two new copies of the movies and the samething happened. I was able to burn the produces this week so my dvd drive and burning are working. Can anyone help me with this it is driving me crazy.

sounds like a conflict of some sort that is stopping you from ripping and burning! List your software programs ...... if you have Nero and Roxio on your computer, they clash and can cause problems like what you're discribing. If you have been successful in the past then what did you install on your computer that is blocking your from ripping and burning? There's definately a conflict going on in the computer. You can always try to go to a restore point where your computer was working just fine and do a windows restore to there. Or are your programs illegally obtained? If they are legit then there has to be something going on in your computer to get programs closing and error mesessages like you are having..... sounds like something was installed and screwed up your registry!

@rgmuckli,
You don't happen to have X****y Express(321) on your PC do you? If so, it is a "known" conflict issue. My theory is it is the Patin Coufin driver. Also like IHoe said, Nero & Roxio can conflict too!

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

not sure if this would help, but try it:
1. disable antivirus and/or any realtime spyware like windows defender
2. start, run, services.msc, stop whatever services are not needed at this time (e.g., wireless, server, you can probably find on google what are not needed)
3. use task manager to shut down other unnecessary stuff
4. do a disk cleanup
5. defragment your hard drive

also, as they say, update your firmware, make sure DMA is enabled in devices manager. You could try lowering the burning speed, but it sounds like you need to get past the ripping step first. Not sure, but maybe your drive needs a cleaning? Anybody agree?

Just for good measure, and depending on your system, you could try updating your chipset drivers.

Somehow, and I have absolutely no idea how, I had downloaded a DVD playing software from a movie I'd rented. A dialog box asked if I wanted to download and I said "no". I remember a couple more dialog boxes (or whatever they're called). I don't remember their content but I know I didn't say yes to a download of any kind ... still...there it was. Either it just downloaded it by itself or I did in fact download it in some strange and convoluted way. It screwed up everything. That was quite sometime ago though; it was X copy platimum before their demise. They had me read certain things from the list of the computers programs ... it didn't even sound like DVD playing software. Worked like a charm after I uninstalled.

Yes,

PC Friendly, InterActual, and Hot Llama players are included on many dvds.
