nope, there isnt even a ps1 emu available yet. Oficial Sony emu should be out by the end of the year, god only knows when a homebrew ps1 emu will be available.

I dont believe it will cost anything, but you will have to purchase the specially formated ps1 games that are compatible with the emu....no idea how much those will cost. Say a prayer for the coders out there, cause I have already spent a grand plus on ps1 games, and im not doing it again.

I still have my doubts about the emu...controller wise. Not enough buttons on the psp, and im worried that will adversly affect gameplay. Look at daedlius, thats a pain in the arse IMO. As long as the Final Fantasy series along with the Gran Turismo series play well, im good.

Here are the only games i care about, as if any of you care LOL:
FF 7-9
FF Tactics
GT 1-2
Legend of Dragoon
Wild Arms 1-2
Bit of an rpg theme, but then again, thats all the ps1 was really good for.

No , thier are lots of other great games for PS1: Gran turismo I,II , Parappa the Rapper, Rayman 2: the great escape, crash bandicoot, Wipeout, Warhawk , Twisted Metal , tomb raider etc...

And that why i listed GT 1-2 (Gran Tusrismo....) those games you listed were ok back in the day, but know, well, they just suck(save Twisted Metal)! 32 bit era didnt fare as well as the 8 and 16 bit era did.....play mario and FF 2-3 hell of a lot more than Warhawk or Tomb Raider. These are just my opinions....keep it at that. No point to list all the decent games, cause it will turn this thread into what every other thread in the psp forum is......senseless bs.

Agree on that......a portible ps1 was something i have always wanted, lets just hope that the concept doesnt result in pure crap, and the games are cheap. I refuse to pay any more than 5 bucks for a game...maybe 15 for FF and Gran Turismo.

yeah im not willing to pay much either. I dont know if this is true but i heard the games you buy come in this wierd format and are only 10mb.

Ive heard about the format, but there is not way they can be 10mb. Each disk from Final Fantasy 7 was atleast 600MB.....every disk from 8 was full size. Not sure how this will all work, im sure they will be on UMD or something.....but i wouldnt be surprised either if you had to save them to mem stick...that would be a great way for Sony to push its oversized mem sticks also. Should be interesting.

Thats a good point. If i had to buy a $70 mem stick just for an emu, i would be pissed...I have 2 at the moment, but for somebody getting into psp for the reason of ps1 emulation that would suck....and im sure that would lead to a lot more than Sony bargained for, if you know what I mean. I think UMD would be the most reasonable way to make the the games avaialble, but then you would have to pay extra because of the cost Sony has to pay to manufacture the game on the UMD. I dont know....Sony is good at screwing stuff up...

the fact that sony like to make so much (more) money out of us gaming lot annoys me--u would have thought that if we had the original ps1 games (like i do, stacked up here!) that like the ps2, we could somehow copy them to our psp's......maybe my mind is a little bit small!!- i just really want Parapper the rapper on my psp!!
Also i do really like gran turismo--when is 4 coming to psp?
