Is there any possible ways to unbrick my TA-082 psp? My bro was one 'smarty-pants' and tried to downgrade my psp into < 2.5 firmware, and now i have a brick. Man...i've been saving so much $ for my own psp and now its ruined...:(. Anyone have any ideas at all? When i 1st bought it, it has 2.5 firmware version.
HELP. I FEEL LIKE THE $ HAS GONE DOWN THE DRAIN JUST LIKE THAT...not to mention I'm just only a poor student, barely have enough money to even support myself :( :(

hate to say it but your screwed unless you pay $100+ for a modchip.
Firmware - 1.0 > 1.5 > 2.0 > 2.5 > 2.6 > 1.5 > 2.6 > 1.5
I make my own signatures, isn't that an amazing and boring fact for me to put here? Don't PM me with an answer...well you could, give me something to talk about or you would probably be completely rude about the matter....just one more dot? ok ..... .

can I insert a mod-chip into my TA-082 psp with original 2.5 firmware?? If it is so, what kind of mod-chip is that? I heard that UP doesnt support TA-082...
If its true, then there's still a glimmer of hope...

its hard to deal with the ta 082 models but if u wanna give it a try might as well..but i think the best would be buy a modchip or a second hand...if i were u id buy a 32 mb ms and put it in psp and send it to sony and tell them i was charging it in the evening for 3 hours when i came back it wouldnt do anything...

vampiro, again u mentioned about mod-chip...is it possible to mod the TA-082 now? anyways...i bought my psp from japan, and i've contacted my country's sony rep. They said that if i buy my model from japan, it must be send back there for repairs.
and so, i contacted sony japan. then, sony japan says that the warranty cannot be used from outside of japan, and if really need to send my psp in for repairs, i need to send my psp to some representative in japan, and that rep would send it to sony japan. it is too much of a fuzz...and they might even charge me on this. dang.
this is really sad for me...paying so much $ on a psp, and now its a brick. T_T

The U.P. modchip doesnt downgrade a psp. It allows two version of firmware to be ran. And yes it can "unbrick" a psp.
