When i turn my psp on with the wifi button down the power led lights up green but the screen is black
However
When i turn my psp on with the wifi switch up it works completely fine
I thought it may be something to do with custom firmware but not entirely sure

I have custom firmware (the whole 9.99 thing with custom font etc) and haven't had a problem and I tried what you did, the wifi switch and it worked fine. I would go back into x-flash if I were you a reset all defaults and see how it goes.
Firmware - 1.0 > 1.5 > 2.0 > 2.5 > 2.6 > 1.5 > 2.6 > 1.5
I make my own signatures, isn't that an amazing and boring fact for me to put here? Don't PM me with an answer...well you could, give me something to talk about or you would probably be completely rude about the matter....just one more dot? ok ..... .

if you used x flash to make your custom firmware then you can restore your psp using the restore button in x flash, that is only if you have made a backup of your firmware

I know i shouldn't double post but i thought this was important incase other people were having the same problem.
I removed harley g's custom firmware and it now works.
I read the readme that came withit and it said having the wifi button down would take you directly to devhook so i musn't have the save version of devhook that this custom firmware supports.
Im sorry for double post
