hey,
I just got custom firmware - proof of concept. I went to it on the game menu and it did some stuff when i pressed x (flashed and watnot) but now what do i do?
i think its harleyg's custom firmware thing.
I really want custom firmware so can anyone help?

i hate to be a nay-sayer but it seems there is more problems caused by the custom firmware then there is benefits. what is your reason behind wanting the custom firmware if i can ask? Just curious.

i don't know, no more corrupted files and other things i guess. should i just take off the custom firmware- proof of concept?

dont be sorry :). there is other ways to get the corrupted icons off the screen. its up to you whether or not you wanna keep it or ditch it. In my case I havent found a reason good enough to want to put the custom firmware on yet. I think you found an outdated version to. Harley g's custom firmware got past the P.O.C. Stage.

oh ic, Can u send me the link to the new harlyg's custom firmware? I thought that the risk was only if u used xflash, So their's still the risk of bricking with custom firmware?
Also what are the benefits of custom firmware?

not necessarily a risk of bricking but if you install certain things the wrong way it can mess up your psp and cause a lot of trouble and pain. rather then linking to just the custom firmware ill link you to a couple of them.

ic, so i shouldn't really do it? wat are some of the benefits?
thanks for the link. Should i take off the proof of concept thing? and if so, how?
k i see the unflasher for the proof of concept. I extracted it and it didn't come with a readme file. So where do i put these two files?

Well I cant say take it off. That decision is left up to you. Sorry I cant help more with taking it off tho. I dont mess with the custom firmware.

Never. I have had it all along and it kicks a$$!!!! In fact, I have never seen a corrupt icon removed completely like this in all the apps I've tried and I've been doing the homebrew thing pretty much since it began... Needless to say, I've tried every app I could get my hands on. POC rocks!
@panesingh: if you need any help, just ask, but you don't need to remove it.

k guano, wat does the poc do?
i have it on and i ran it and now it doesn't bring up anymore menu's.

Oh, btw, if you are using Harley's Dual boot POC mod (which he ripped this off from McZonk, author of PSPset, Doom port, etc), I can't help
Just use the desintalar (uninstall) thing that came w/ the app you downloaded.
I would recommend using ONLY Dark_AleX's POC. Nothing else. That's the one I'm familiar with.
Lemme know when this is done. (Sorry I didn't mention this before; I've had a few beers... LOL)

k i just unflashed the the thing so now which is the best custom firmware IF i actually need custom firmware.

Lemme rephrase this then. I have seen more problems caused by the firmware then what has been considered benefits. Seems everyone that has used it has had nothing but problems. for instance in this thread this guy has been having lots of problems with his copy of the custom firmware.

Just look for Dark_AleX's POC. Go look at like Maxconsole or something.
Dark_AleX was the orignal author of the POC. His is the original and best. Anything less... would be uncivilized. LOL

@ hex: negative results are more often posted than positive results. Bad news spreads faster than good news. I have never had any problems. If this kid has a problem, he can just remove it.

i beat it too but ive been playing alot of half life 2 deathmatch. i need to get my counter strieke source back online tho. i miss running that thing.
