Im having great difficulty in Career mode on hard let me explain this 100%

I completed 5 years in career mode on medium and won the championship 4 out of 5 times so i went for a harder challange puttin g it on hard now i test for a team and i only get test driver role is it possible to get 2nd driver with a certain time or somehting plz help?? cause when i get into test driver role i cannot do the times they want from me there just too high
