hey im quite happy that u kan use a boot disc (aid,slayer,etc) n all but how does it bypass the hd chekin n all?

You can only use those if you have a modded Xbox (soft mod or chipped, doesn't matter).
The disc itself can't initiate a security bypass, only a working mod will do that.

i put the files of the softmod on the hd that imma use and imma lock it w/ aid, will this work?

You can't do it that way. Isn't cereal sending you xboxhdm? Use that to lock it.

yea he sendin xboxhdm, thing is, i dont got a dvd drive in my comp. I was thinkin i cud probably flash the firmware of the xbox dvd drive and use it in the computer, then get bak the original xbox firmware settings on there, n use it again for its sole purpose

I don't suggest doing that. Anytime you mess with firmware you risk ruining the device, and flashing the drive twice is just doubling those chances...
Can't you find a spare one somewhere? Like a friend that upgraded to a DVD burner and doesn't need his old DVD-ROM anymore?

lol well yea, but that takes time, n i dont got time (i do) but i kan really only play PLAY on the weekend, n i work 20 hours on sat n sunday. But this means i kan only use aid on the new HD if i put the folders C: n D: in there wit the softmod in them?
