Audio not coming out in stereo.......

I film a lot of concerts - I make a DVD master on a stand alone DVD recorder and then use my PC to clone copies off of my master. This was working fine until suddenly the cloned copies have much lower sound. I checked the masters and they're all in stereo so I know that's not the problem. I'm using Nero Vision Express 3 SE. In video options under audio format I've tried Automatic, Dolby Digital (AC-3) 2.0, & LPCM and still get the mono very low audio level. What happened - is there an upgrade I need or something else I can do to improve the audio........
