Microcenter (in the Houston store) has the 2.4x 10 pack for $19.99 & the 25 pack 8x (also DL) for $64 something. I'm a big TY single layer & Verb double layer fan however I've had good luck with the single layer Ritek F-1 16x discs burned at a max of 8x. I just wonder if the one Ritek DL pack is any good (has someone used them?) & how they stack up against the verb DL's? I'll be burning it at 2.4x just like I do with the up to 6x (or was it 8x?) Verbs I've burned.

Oh & my drive is a Plextor 716-A....

Thing is, you'll find the Verbatims for around the same price, sometimes less. Supermediastore currently has a 20-pack of inkjet printable Verbs for $35 after a $20 rebate, shipping included.

I've had lots of good luck with Ritek D01 burned on my NEC ND-3550A. However, I've yet to find a price compelling enough to make it worth switching from Verbatim.

-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
