Will there be as much Demand for the Wii as the PS3???
What about the supply? Will there be enough to go around for everyone in the country before christmas? Would it be a smart idea to buy and sell at eBay????? (No Flaming plz)

Quote: Nintendo promises that the supply lines will be cranking out consoles at a steady pace - 4 million by the end of the year - and that shortages simply won't exist. You walk into a store, you buy a Wii, you go home happy. Can they succeed where others have failed? That's ten times as many PS3s as Sony is promising at launch. We want to believe.
I found this at this website...

Yeah I hope there is a lot of Wii's to go around because I don?t want to wait in a big line again after 2 days (because of the ps3). But I am planning on getting a Wii on the 19th hopefully.

I have never bought a system on launch day. If i go to bestbuy or toysrus on November 19th what are the chances that there will be a huge line coming out of the store? Will there be any left the next day?

Um probably not. You could always try pre-odering. Their will be a big line up of people they will most likely sleep over night to get one. Im not completley sure but I know it will be like that for the ps3.

There's always the other regions who aren't getting a Wii for at least 2 weeks after the Americas.. I'm sure someone over there would be happy to buy it from you for a fair mark up, just to have it earlier.
I'm not expecting there to be a severe shortage like the Xbox360, but I expect it will sell out day one. You will be able to profit from reselling Wiis .. but not nearly as much as you could make from reselling PS3s

you guys are deffenetly missing the point where japan, us and uk/aus have all different systems because of the PAL and NTSC formats. they would have started on the NTSC first then the japan PAL then the aus PAL

Yeah we know that already but the poeple on ebay may not... Also people who buy a NTSC system could be the one's in america that could not have gotten one on day one and really want one. The people who are not in NTSC area but bought a NTSC system would buy game's over the internet that are NTSC.

i know the military fiscal year starts 1 oct, so is it 4 million by the end of this year? so come december 31st they will have supplied 4 million or does the end of this year refer to their fiscal year which could be march as that is when sony's is i believe?
personally i think the initial launch may see some shortages, but if they are able to pump out that many units, i don't think there is much too worry about. people could always just buy one to see how things progress when they launch the system. if you buy one with intent on selling it and there is a shortage, well your all set. if there isn't shortages, well now you can always go back and return it.
call me crazy but i just don't think people are going to bid the amount of money we saw with the 360 or what some expect to see with the ps3. i think some people would be lucky to get $50 profit, i mean someone could actually get a 360 for that price.
