Downgrading a PSP using another PSP

A guy at work has a 2.6 PSP and I have a 1.5. He wants to downgrade to a 1.5. He said that he has a file that needs to be sent to my PSP and then sent back to his and it will downgrade his psp. I am not so sure about that. I have read downgrading procedures and none had said to use another psp. Have any of you heard of this?

hiya yes you do need files from a 1.5 but, if you download the easy downgrader its has everything that you need,remember to check the sticky to make sure its a compatible motherboard
