I want to know if I should be worried of burning too many DVD's

Hello,I just want to know if I should be worried my DVD burner will brake if I burn too many DVD's?How many is too many?I just bought this computer(emachines D6419).

I suppose it depends on the burner and how good it is. I read somewhere that a burner life expectancy was 1000 burns or two years. My old NEC1300a is three years old and has about 2000 burns on it. Besides burners are constantly being changed and support on them kind of dies after a few years so you will probably get another one before the burner has a chance to go bad. Just enjoy it :)

my old Sony (rebadged Lite-On) has done several 1000 and my newish Lit-On 1693s has done a further couple of thou' still going strong

My old Pioneer 106D is about 3 years old and I can't guess at how many it has burned. New burners are not that expensive and easy to install so burn away and don't worry about it, LOL.

my benq 1650 has done over 1000 burns and still going strong :P, burners are pretty cheap these days anyway so i wouldnt worry.
