My psp will charge, when you turn it on the screen turns on green light but only for about 3seconds any then turns off again, any ideas?

it is a brick of you have a warranty send it to sony and you have a chance of having a 2.6 psp without tha ta-082 motherboard, if your warranty is finished then open the psp and on the motherboard there will be a battery take the battery out and you might be able to unbrick your psp

(im not that sure but you can try)

I was playin a game n it turned off i assumed the battery so turned it back on, then the amount of time is stayed on became shorter. With the battery outit will turn striaght on i get a light then straight off again. What exactly is a brick? It is a 1.5v PSP?

The only thing I could think of is the contacts are burned out for your battery to be able to charge. That would explain the reason for the shorter life span each time you turned the PSP on.

yeah hes right if he psp does turn on then it itsnt a brick maybe the battery died out or is dieing i think charching your psp over night can ruin your battery too.

Ok..... I think it could be the battery. I have managed to turn it on a couple of times and get to the battery information screen. Where it says power source external even though i have got the battery in it does not recognise it being charged. Sooo it turns on for a steadily decreasing amount of time. So would a new battery solve this issue? or is it screwed? At least its not a brick.
