hey folks, about to have a look at x-flash, ive heard the risks, but is there anyone here with a few positive/negative opinions on the brew?

I use it,its great the only way it can brick ur psp is u put your own stuff in it like a font and its currupted

mainly fonts and backgrounds, what colour and format must the background be, and is there a converter for the fonts, ive looked around for hours for one.

well there is a converter out for it but it has to be compiled in a linux environment in order to use. as for backgrounds nothing over 150KB in size, 300x170 resolution, and a 24-bit bitmap. when u flash custom backgrounds tho most of the time they make the icons look funky. i created a solid black background that was 7KB in size and it fixed the funky icons. backgrounds can also be any color you choose. or anything u want the background to display as long as it complies with the aforementioned specs.

now, i must admit, i dont fancy trying to install that ubuntu again, was a pain in the backside, lol.

Think if i dig around enough i could find some pre-compiled fonts?

well i was talkin about the converter when i mentioned converting it but ya psp-hacks.com has a couple font packs.
