Hey, I'm trying to make a custom correction script for subtitles, but I don't know what program is the best to do that.

I tried SubRip's scripts, but they are to inacurate. I also tried Subtitle Workshop's ocr scripts, but they can't contain unicode.
Does anyone know of a better program? Thanks in advance!

Sorry I've only done basic playing with subtitles but can you explain in detail what it is that you're trying to correct with said script?

I'm trying to correct (small) errors in subtitles that I've ripped. Errors like:
$ 234 should be $234
. . . should be ...
,: should be ;
bla bla " should be bla bla"
[ bla ] should be [bla]

These are the kind of errors that can easily be fixed automatically, but I need a good program that can run a good script. Subtitle Workshop's script uses Regular Expressions, which is perfect, but unfortunately Subtitle Workshop doesn't support Unicode and neither does it support the italics SubRip uses.

So I'm hoping someone knows a program which is similar to Subtitle Workshop and supports Unicode and SubRip's italics.

I don't know if this is the best solution for your problem but some sub files can be edited as text files, you might try a word processor with some of the features you're looking for and see how that goes....

Personally I love openoffice.org and it's free, so that's always good, also, to keep your processor from trying to save it in a proprietary format, you can open the file in notepad, copy and paste it into the word processor then do the same when you get it done, and save the file from notepad.
