Recently, the image on my LCD TV has looked strange. On all the channels there are waves and/or cubes of green spread out in different areas. It is usually at its worst when I'm watching Family Guy or Futurama. Does this mean my TV is losing quality or something? I bought it only around 7-8 months ago.

You say it happens on certain shows? Could it be the channel feed from your cable company? Have you tried hooking up a regular antenna, DVD on a different port (input)? What about hooking up something on your front inputs (digital still camera, video camera) with video, does it still do this? If so, something is probably bad and I would take it back ASAP and get a new one. 6-7 months so it should still be under warranty.

I hope this helps.

that just sounds like bad reception on certain channels (not sure about the green blocks though, that sounds like when an AVI files gets converted (badly) to DVD format and suffers screen corruption ie green blocks); that's the only time i can think of seeing green blocks on the tv.

Well, (forgive me if I am stating obvious things) on my tv there are 3 inputs: Component1, IRC, and AV1. Component1 is the main input I watch TV on and IRC is an alternate one (the picture on IRC is stretched out to fill the screen fully). AV1 is the input where my dvd player is.

I decided to test out (hopefully I interpreted you're (bs0425) meaning by testing things out) my dvd input by watching a dvd and watching for any green streaks of blocks. There were some, but very slight and barely noticeable.

So does this mean that my TV itself is losing quality, its getting bad reception, or both? Would going to a higher quality input like HDMI get rid of the green blocks? I can post some pics of my TV when it's all green blocky if it will help.

imho it sounds like you source(ie the cable/sat, your dvds) arent hi def and your screen is doing the best it can with a sub standard format. can u hook it up to your pc and run some hidef video thru it? is so, do, and see what it looks like running at its native resolution.

i sometimes watch tv shows iv recorded with my dvdrw standalone jobbie on my pc, now my monitor will show upto 720p and i get those little green ghostie things sometimes but they dont show up on my bigger crt tv

I do not know if I could and even if I could, I wouldn't know how to hook it all up.

The channels I were watching where the green things appeared were NOT in HD (there are only a few channels that are...). They (the channels) aren't in full screen (they've always been like that), but this just started happening and it never has happened before.

Depending on your warranty statis, I would get it looked at by a qualified tech. Going by your statement that it was good before but now started acting up sounds like possible TV problems. As the other guys stated it could be a problem with something on the signal in line but you get some minor problems when playing a dvd also. That kind of points towards internal problems. Just my opinion.
