Hello all, just aquickone guys. If any 1 can help me please.
I wanted to backup some two-disc DVD program with presumably CSS prtection inplace using Nero 7 Premium. It came back as DVD-is-copy-protected-cant-do-that thing. After having played the disc in WinDVD and MS MediaPlayer - I was able to just "drag'n'drop" the whole VIDEO_TS folder onto the desktop. This worked for both discs.
However my Nero 7 still would not copy it coming up with the same warning as before.
What was puzling for me was that a mate of mine was able to copy the disc using different version of Nero. But his would backup only one disc of the two. The other one would come up as copy protected.
I put the discs throughanother application that is able to tell whether there is copy protection installed and it indeed confirmed the presence of CSS/CMTP.
Can anyone tell me what tomake of it? Is CSS on the discs corrupt?
I have scoured the net - could not find any answers so far. I'dmuch appreciate if any one could clear this for me, please.

Oh... Forgot to tell further developments. I went to the local video store and rented a movie there to see if I could repeat the backing up with a different source. Sure enough Nero wouold not copy the disc, but after a couple of minutes of playing it in WinDVD and MSWMP was able to drag'n'drop the folder onto Desktop again...

CSS is a protection on the disk that prevent people from copying(backing up) the DVD(Yeah Right LOL) the CSS protection is very basic when it comes to protection schemes nowadays, all u need is a program that will rip the dvd free of any protection on it.

DVD decrypter(Free) can do this for older dvds, but not newer ones.
DVDFab decrypter(Free) can do this with any dvd.
http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm heres a link for DVD Fab

Also here are a bunch of guide for backing up dvds
