AVI to DVD audio-video synch problem

I have a video clip in AVI format and about 10min from the end of the clip the audio falls behind the video by a second or two...will TMPGEnc plus fix this if i encode the clip into mpeg2 or do i have to manually fix this and if so how?

As I wrote in my FAQ, open the AVI with VirtualDub. It will warn you of the use of MP3 VBR compression in the AVI instead of a MP3 CBR one.

1) Decomopress the audio to WAV (again, read the FAQ).
2) encode WAV -> AC3 wit FFMPEG GUI
3) author the VIDEO with the sound you made. If you are forced to create a mpeg, de-multiplex teh sound and the un-sync audio and use only the video. Finally, author the M2V (MPEG = MPEG audio + M2V) with the AC3 you made from the WAV you extracted.
Some de-mulitiplexers name MPV the M2V file. If so, just rename it.

Also I suggest you look at the encoding stage and make sure that the input and output video has the same framerate. This can cause a problem when you re-encode the video / audio streams, and you may need to use a wave editor to "timestretch" the audio to fit the video length. i.e. if you change the video from 23.97fps to 25.00fps (NTSC->PAL) then you are going to alter the length of the film.
