how to DVD author with home-made subs (no permanent subs)

Does anyone have a tutor available that explains how I can author a DVD with with subtitles when I have the (frameserved) .mpg and a .srt subtitle?

I found serveral tutors about how to frameserve from divx to dvd format with virtualdub and permanent subtitles in it but I would like to NOT have it as permanent subs.

I even would like to try to add multiple .srt files with different languages so it goes multinational.

I don't know which programm I can use, with easy explanation. I hoped that Ifoedit could do it but I don't know how.
