I have both the SHM-16H6S and the SOHW-812S...the first one is the the newer drive but it not working now...only had it for 5 months...the second drive is older and lasted a year and a half...anyone know what the best lasting drives are since I understand Lite-On builds drives for a few of the name brands?

Thanks for the help! :-)

Have you tried this?
Go into your Device Manager, find your drive and right click on it. Then click on "Uninstall". After it uninstalls, reboot, let Windows detect new hardware and install a new driver for it.

This will sometimes help one work, that was thought to be dead. Give it a try. You have nothing to lose.
