Trouble playing video files downloaded from Azureus

Ok I started using Azureus. When I installed it I put it on expert and I configured it the way mentioned in this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 to help protect my privacy. Anyway I've downloaded a couple of video files(all XviD) and I haven't been able to play them. I have an up to date XviD codec and have no problems playing any of my other XviD video files. Whenever I access the directory of the video file(the one i downloaded from Azureus) I usually get a "Windows explorer has encountered a problem and must close". I ignore it and double click the video file. Windows media player comes up and I get the same type of error message "Windows media player has encountered a problem and must close". I have tried playing the video file with every media player I have on my computer but I always get the same result. Also I wait for my downloads to be 100% complete before I play the video files so that shouldn't be a problem. Anybody know what's wrong?

Hi,

It sounds like its a buggy XviD.

Try playing it in VLC Media Player:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Hi,

Your welcome, if that got it working it was likely to be caused by insufficient codec's or incorrect ones.

Install the K-Lite Mega codec pack:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm

You should then be able to play the video using windows media player, or anything else :-)
