Ok well, I know that I'm a n00b but I have read what I need to know about the psp. I just want to know what is the current firmware verison they have at stores because I plan to buy a psp today.

Well it depends, your local store might have a variety of versions, but most likely 2.71 or 2.80/2.81. But the main concern is not getting a ta-82 motherboard, because then you cannot downgrad which is the main reason to get a psp.

Actually, I went to Toys r Us yesterday and I asked the guy if they have new verisons of the psp. He said they didn't (i think he didnt get my question or didnt know what i was talking about) but I dont know if its true. But anyway, I REALLY hope they have 2.71. Any chance that gamestop has any older verisons? Also, i asked the guy at toys r us if he can let me see the psp but i noticed that they have a new box so i think it means a new verison but hope not tho.
