I have tried different programs to burn with, and have tried different media brands & formats. I have an XBOX v1.1 w/Samsung drive. Please someone out there, tell me how they got their XBOX to play backup DVDs. Please tell exact options selected once you start to burn the video. I use DVD Decrypter to copy to my HDD. Just need help on what software config to use to burn the video I guess. Please Help!

P.S. I have TDK 4xDVD+r,Memorex 4xDVD+r, and Sony 2.4x DVD+RW media available to try at the moment.

Bigjunk, I can see from your signature, you are burning dvd+r's with Sony burner, right? I have exactly the same problems with my Xbox (w/ Samsung-drive). So I have tried various DVD+R medias burnt with Sony -> No go. Now I've been using DVD-R's and haven't had any problems whatsoever. Samsung drive can be a little picky dealing with DVD+R's, so start using DVD-R's with your Xbox.

Yeah I second that with DVD-R. XBOX's prefer the -R in my opinion. Burn slow 1X or 2X and make sure you burn DAO and not TAO.

Ok, I'm back here.
Dank, all other dvd+r & dvd+rw backups I've made work in my PS2, both of my standalone dvd players & the only other 2 xbox drives that I've tried them on, they worked too. Not sure which drive they had in them but must not have been the Samsung.

And to Diaboli & ModMaster, I will pick up a 5-pack of Memorex dvd-r discs tomorrow (this is all I can get nearby) & tyr them. Should I burn with Nero or RecordNow? Thanks

all i use is the +r or +rw format for movies and my xbox but i have the thompson drive in mine.. i personally use either depending on the size of the movie either dvd x copy or dvd decryptor to make my movie back-ups. and the only brand that i use is memorex.. don't know if this helps but its how i do it. and burn as slow as possible using the sony dru-500a

i have the thomson drive in mind...I use DVD decrypter and Elaborate Bytes(Clone DVD) Sony dru-510a. and FUJIFILM DVD-R media and works 100% off the time on Xbox, Stand-alone dvd players, and PS2..TDK DVD+RW Media did not work with my xbox 0% of the time.

p.s. i do lot's of test runs on the DVD+RW media to check the compatability and Setting before ever burning a DVD movie.TO ensure Great quality.lol

"Should I burn with Nero or RecordNow?"

I'd say neither. PrimoDVD is by far the best software for DVD games and movies. RecordNow will only let your burn TAO and a lot of DVD players have trouble with TAO. Like I said before this could be where you are going wrong and it may have nothing to do with the discs. Get PrimoDVD or use Nero at a push but make sure those settings are right before you burn. Check twice, burn once.
