I've got a A-Link RR24 modem and two PCs attached to it, and for some reason only one of them can use any opened ports at a time. How could I get them both to use opened ports simultaneuosly?
Well, just set your computers to have a differen't IP. Well, I guess I can sit here and explain how. Go to your network connections. Then when you see the Local Area Connection right click on it and click on properties. Hilight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and hit the Properties button right below it. It will bring up a window that looks like this.
Click on Use The Following IP Adress bubble
Then go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command prompt.
When it opens the window, type ipconfig/all then hit enter. It will show alot of IP's. Just fill the Internet Protocol Properties with the information on the command prompt. But one difference. Where it says IP Adress you'll have to change it on both computers, but with different IP's. Depending on what your IP adress is, you'll have to set it to that number. Like, my router's IP is 192.168.2.1, so I would have to make a ip that has 192.168.2.100. But others may be 192.168.1.1 so their IP adress may be something like 192.168.1.100 Set your main computer to 192.168.x.100 and the other to 192.168.x.101 and forward the ports to the computer's IP. If this doesn't work, post back. For the DNS server, you only need to fill in only one of them. You should see the DNS in the command prompt with the IP's.
