hi ive put a new in my psp due to it not reading umds

but it still doesnt work if i open the door and press the trigger the psp says straight away cart read disc.

could i have another doggie umd drive or is there anything else that chould be wrong

help much apprecated

its running 2.81 with a new laser and mech put in but still no joy

are you sure you pluged both the umd plugs up to the psp? i remember i only pluged the moter that makes the umd spin and i thougt my umd drive was broken

yes i have checked this as soon as i close the ummd door it comes up with carnt read disc

i can hear the disc spinning

i would doubt that, i don't think Sony would make a firmware so you wouldn't be able to play your UMDs!

hiya again ive just been fidling with this psp and found out if i press the umd button on the motherboard it does excelly the same so could it be a motherboard problem ???????????????????????

no, i don't think firmware, and a mobo would screw up whatever it is that's screwed up. Must be something you did? Did you try to downgrade!? and brick it?
