Most likely you have to enable port forwarding for a particular port or range. You will have to set up a static IP ON YOR PC and set the router to forward to that IP. However, unless your ISP says otherwise, you can't have a static ***PUBLIC*** IP address. Fortunately, most ISPs don't change your IP very often, if at all - the IP you get is usually determined as a function of the MAC address of the device connected to the cable modem (in your case, the WAN side of your router; if you didn't have a router, it would be your PC's Network Interface Card). So as long as you don't change the WAN hardware address, your public IP shouldn't change.

Alternatively, you can put the Bearshare PC in your router's DMZ and enable DMZ if your router supports that feature, though it will essentially be unfirewalled. Then, at least, you don't have to mess around with changing your DHCP or port forwarding at all.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
