"Alright I got the files to work.
1'st Download curerom and the newest version of alcohol 120%
2'nd start up curerom and click Options>Curerom settings click third party virtual cd drive. Click Alcohol 120% and make sure "Do not display Alcohol 120% in my virtual cd/dvd rom list" is not checked. Click apply and close.
3'rd Create a CureRom profile for the application find sweaw.exe
Click Next.
Select Alcohol 120% as the image mounting software, find your disk 1 cd image for "Backup image", leave everything default and click next.
Select your name for the shortcut and your done, now click on the shortcut to launch the game.
Worked for me hope it helps."
I tried this solution from Raidennrl. It worked up until i ran the shortcut, where i encountered error : Original disc could not be found or authenticated..... I know it is not my Video card, im running an ATI Radeon 9600+ Pro. Please help.

Curerom lite comes with the actual Curerom program.
Personaly whenever I went to turn cureromlite off it crashed my computer.
Not sure why, but it killed all my processes when I disabled the program.
As for using my old method, YES it does work the mejority of the time but just used the cracked .EXE game file found at gamecopyworld :)
AS FOR UR "Original disk cannot be found or authenticated" that has to do with the image, absolutely nothing to do with you video card. You probably recieved a half'assed cd image done with blindwrite.
-Cheers.

Quote: This is solution to work with mounted image without crack:
Mount image with alchol120% or DT4
run curerom lite and enable it
right click on SWEAW.EXE and choose compatibility mode for WIN2000
run sweaw.exe
PLAY GAME
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I've had Empire at War sitting on my computer practically mocking me for about a month because I could never get it to start up. In a vain effort, I went here, used this tactic above, and now it works great!
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
For anyone who is having problems with running Empire At War, I have written a simplified guide. My intention is to help people who own the ORIGINAL GAME or a LEGAL backup of it, so if you've downloaded an illegal copy, don't waste you time PM-ing me about it, you will get no response. This method is for DVD/CD versions. You will not need to mount any images to do this. However, the game can be installed using a mounted image in any virtual disk application.
Here is what you do:
You will need to get the 1.02 update from Lucas Arts (1.02, NOT 1.03). Once you have downloaded it, install it as you normally would install an update (But if you have messed up any game files with previous failed attempts, then you must first reinstall the game). When the update has been applied, you will need to go to http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D4YL8ZKG as previously posted and download the file. Open it in whatever application you use and extract the files to a folder. Next(For XP users), go to Start Menu/All Programs/Lucas Arts/Star Wars: Empire At War/GameData. Open the folder which you extracted the .rar file into earlier and drag the files it contains to your GameData folder. Allow it to replace any files. Finally, go to Start Menu/All Programs/Lucas Arts/Star Wars: Empire At War and right click the play icon. Choose properties. In the new window, you will see the word Target: and beside it a path to your GameData folder. Delete the path and paste in this line (Including inverted commas) :
"C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War\GameData\sweaw.exe"
Close all of those windows and start the game by going to Start Menu/All Programs/Lucas Arts/Star Wars: Empire At War and clicking on the play icon. Enjoy the game!

Please help me! =)

hi! i've reach the bbs cause i couldn't load the game properly, but i figured out, and i want to share it with those who still fighting
i've got the DVD5 mdf/mds image from isohunt (Star Wars Empire at War [DVD][English][www.pctorrent.com]), mounted with Alcohol 120% 1.9.5 build 3823 (last version) virtual drive, installed OK, and ran for the 1st time fine.
when rebooted, the game failed to start with all of those msg you should saw.
tried EVERY, securom loader, hiding, another virtual drive like daemon tools4, Nero image drive (nero 6.6), clonecd (5.2). NONE worked.
then tried to uninstall my dvd burner, load the alcohol virtual drive with NO loader nor hiding, and... DID WORK!
finally i've tried to burn that image, cause i've needed the hard driver space. the burned image, refused to play. i've reinstalled from the new burned dvd, but when tried to play, i've got the same old error msg :(
burned another disk, but with alcohol simulation, and didn't work either.
then updated the game to last 1.3 patch, and nothing new.
the final solution, you'll get it at:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D4YL8ZKG
unpack that rar file to "gamedata" sub-dir (back-up the original files, just in case), and run the game directly from sweaw.exe from this location (place a link at your desktop), and you're ready to enjoy the game. be advised that you'll need a decent vga such as 6600 to get a smooth gameplay.
thanks to the original poster for the crack and feel free to follow this tips and you'll get your image and your burned dvd working :)
cya!
