Just got my 168P+ today. Some simple questions:
1 - Is there a way to shut the display off during a call. I'm tired of this thing vibrating every time my ear touches the screen.
2 - I put in a 2 Gig micro sd card and it doesn't seem to see it. I go to file manager and it tells me I have a total of 0 with 0 free. There are files on the card; it can't even see the card. Is there something I need to do to get it to see the card?
3 - Slide to Unlock doesn't seem to be working the way I'd have hoped. It's already unlocked itself a couple of times in my pocket. It seems if I slide my finger left to right anywhere on the screen, that is enough to unlock it. The slide to unlock slider doesn't move (unless I'm sliding it), but it unlocks none the less. Is that normal?

So if anybody has seen an adaptor for the p168 usb version that can be used with a standard 3,5 mm ear phone connector, please give me a hint!

Did you find the solution yet? I have the same problem on my P168+ (Quadband). During a phone call I click the left sofyt key then "new call" but when I press one of the numbers it seams that the voice response system does not get the tone. Any idea?

Got my P168 yesterday, love the phone but something is bugging me. Every hour it keeps saying that a new timezone has been detected and it's asking if i want to update. i keep pressing "no" but it just kept on going and going, is there a way to disable this? I have read the manual over and over but it doesn't say anywhere there about the timezone. Anyone here have answer? Thanks.

Agreed, that'll work, but the side-effect of that is you don't have time & date displayed on the main display, right?
I think the issue here is that initially, the phone is detecting a change in time zone because chances are - out of the box - it is not in the same time zone it was manufactured in. So if you want the date/time display, you are going to have to answer yes to that question or it will keep detecting a new time zone.
Obviously, it will issue the same alert every time you travel to a new time zone. Every decision has consequences.

And they say you can't buy happiness <grin>!
Seriously though, this isn't a bug. It's doing what it is supposed to do; even my T-Mobile Wing does that (when it would do anything at all <lol>).
As Bizzaro Nancy Regan used to say: "Just say 'Yes'!"

Help!
Does anyone know if the P168 is or is not Macbook compatible. I have tried for days now to transfer files from my macbook to the phone, and it gives me an error code -36. Not sure what to do. Has anyone had this problem, or am I the only one in the universe who doesn't have a PC anymore?

Dear azaxeman,
I saw on the forum that you had some problem with the "slide to unlock" feature of your P168+ phone. I have the same problem : it unlocks itself in my pocket. Did you solved this problem?
If you could tell me about the solution, it would help me.
Many thanks.

Also, I have changed my background but, for example, when I am typing a text message it is still the stock fish background. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks, James
You need to go to setting, then go to security set up and touch ok then select AUTO KEYPAD LOCK, THEN SELECT NONE
