If anyone w/ "dupe" experience could assist in set up features
see the main drive reads +r disc well , but initially it would read
-r which currently wont. I have had success in the past but now disc wont copy currently I have converted imation 16x into coasters, not sure about brand or set up features "dupe" guide is m.i.a . Just curious about set up features that are intended for device and recommendations on compatibility or guide link.

I'm not completely following you, which may be why no one else replied, but I'll give it a go. Be advised that I have little familiarity with duping towers, let alone your specific model:

As far as coasters, Imation is junk media. Read my sig about media.

As far as losing DVD-R capability, it might have been spotty to begin with. Try upgrading the reading drive's firmware (or, better yet, all drives) if you can. You may have to pull the drives and put them in a PC if necessary. NEC drives were notorious for being +R only, especially for drives of that genre such as yours. You might even want to consider a hacked firmware from Liggy's and Dee's, which often expand capabilities.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

Bless u for your time and patience, Could you recommend a firm ware link for nec dupe drives. As far as description of my particular tower It contains an acard controller and has a 1 to 1 drive. Hopefully I can bring it back to speed, I purchased it new about a 1 1/2 year ago. Thanks again!

Here are their optical firmwares. You might also want to look at Storage Arrays along the left side of the screen. I don't see anything about a 1-1, but maybe it's there. Do you still have the owner's manual, or a part number?
