I'm thinking of getting a 128kbps ISDN line but just wondered how fast it is. Currently my 56kbps dial up modem is running at 28.8kpbs and I manage to get a download speed between 2-4kbps but what would the download speed be using a 128kbps line and modem.

So does anyone know a cheap, safe and reliable ISDN provider in the UK.

Thanks in advance

Is there any reason you're looking for ISDN? why not get broadband through cable or ADSL through a BT line? 512/256 for about £30.

Asus A7V333, AMD2000+, 768Mb DDR 333
ATI 9000 pro 128Mb
Win XP Pro

I gather you can't get Broadband in your area. I had ISDN up until this month. 128k ISDN is expensive, you can't get pay-monthly 128k subscriptions afaik, only 64k. So dialing on both channels costs 2p per minute, so it's not worth it. ISDN will give you 7-8kbps at best, on 128k its 12-15kbps.

If you really can't get Broadband, ISDN is OK, but forget about 128k, unless your loaded. Freeserve is reliable and don't mind if you connect for long periods ;)
