I have bought a number of DRM protected DivX video files which I can view via the DivX player, but not on a regular dvd player. Instead of buying a DivX compatible dvd player, I would like to remove the DRM protection and convert the DivX files to anything I can burn on a dvd and watch on my regular dvd player. Not for any illegal purposes, but just in order to be able to view what I have paid for on my own equipment. Can anyone help?

As far as I know no one has broken DivX DRM yet. Not much motivation to do so I guess. My advice would be to not pay for anything that uses DRM.

That's a pity. I only bought the files because the material (vast French TV archives: www.ina.fr) is not available in any other form. I tried DVD Decrypter and it gave me an iso file, probably still encrypted. Don't know what to do with such an iso file anyway. Then I tried SnagIt (that's how naive I am), but the recorded DivX image part is black, no sound either. Even my most primitive and desperate attempt to simply record the video (which has 25 frames per second) with my mini-dv camera failed because of a constantly flickering image.

Some of the files are not DRM-protected and can be viewed as a video-clip with Windows Media Player, but even these ones cannot be saved on a DVD, because the DivX format is not suitable therefor.
