will link be able to jump in this one? lol. hes never been able to jump except for in the gba versions. it would seem weird if he could jump in the new one, but it could be interesting.
Thats a point actually, I've seen him jumping in the trailers in my local Gamestation, but i've never thought to look if it is him doing the "auto-jump" off a ledge thing, or if it's a controlled jump, would be interesting to find out.
actually, i havent actually tried the cdi versions, so i wouldnt know :(
but wouldn't it seem awkward if he could just jump whenever he wanted, aren't we all used to him only jumping over cliffs and from one cliff to another, or to reach somewhere? i am

I love it when two people mention the same game, and apparently at least one of them has no earthly idea of it.
Zelda II on the Nes IS Zelda-Link's Adventure. And yes, it included a jump function(I've been playing it recently, it's one of the only ones I never finished...)
All the game boy versions have had a jump function, usually in relation to a roc's feather and/or cape. I'm unsure of cdi versions, but you guys seem pretty confident about that. I thought there was some form of jumping in the SNES version as well, or maybe I was wrong on that point. All in all, considering how many gameboy versions have existed, it would almost seem that due to the gameboy, more versions might exist WITH jumping than without.
I doubt this will allow jumping, as none of the previous 3D zelda's have, and that is a big difference. I don't think they're ready/willing to take Zelda into that direction yet, because it does majorly change the gameplay and feel of the game. I personally think it would be a step forward, but it would require them to do a lot more work. I think that a roc's feather/cape solution would be a good idea, since it would allow them to put some limit on a player's jumping abilities, and still challenge players to think things through with more than a simple quick jump.
Link can jump.
Here's the link, and watch the lava temple clip. I'm not sure if it's because of the magnetic boots he is equipped with or not, but it appears to be a regular ability and not dependant on the boots.
