hi there,
lately my windows has been playing up. it isnt doing anything all that wrong, but windows explorer keeps using up all of my cpu and it slows everything down to the point where i need to close explorer from the task manager and run without it, which is very very annoying. it is windows explorer, not internet explorer. i do have a few pgrms running in the background, but they arnt doing enough damage to slow me down at all, its just explorer.
im runnning with a 1.6ghz centrino with 512 of ram.
anything that u can do to help me would be greatly appreciated. thnx in advance for any help u can offer.
Download HijackThis.
Create a folder in C: named HjT.
Extract HijackThis to the new folder.
Open HijackThis.exe and click "Run a system scan and save a log file".
Post that log here.
Go here and run Kaspersky Online Scanner.
Accept the terms.
After downloading, click "My Computer".
After scanning, click "Save report as".
Save as a text file and post the contents here.
Edit: your running two antiviruses. This can cause competetin between the two which can result in false positives. You can keep both, just turn off the automatic protection for one.
u said that i should turn off one of my anti virus programs. the two that are clashing are norton and avast, except when i startup avast says that it turns off the functions that are clashing with norton. do i still need to turn one off or will it all b good? thnx for all the help so far

Restart your computer in safe mode(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu and press Enter).
Open Killbox.exe.
Check "Standard File Kill".
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines below one at a time. Then click the red button with a white X after you enter each file.
You will be prompted to confirm, click Yes.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Then, run a scan only with HijackThis, check these(if there):

Java is out of date.
Go here and download Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9.
Uninstall all previous version of JRE via Add/Remove Programs.
Restart and install Update 9.
