that is completely idiotic of them. for one, i have never seen a gamestop in my life. second, lowering your playable community is the last thing you want. i bet they are trying to fool people into getting a system that will make them stand on their feet for hours and burn their eyes with subpar graphics buy not letting them try it out at a very major retailer (kind of an overexageration but your get my point..). in time i bet, as the link says, there will be kiosks in more stores, but apparently gamestop bought rights to it.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

yeah. I remember reading that Nintendo's marketing strategy was going to be a little different, regarding in-store kiosks.
Only one gamestop in my city... pffft...
i wish walmart would get some.

I find this funny since Gamestop bought out Ebgames. Does that mean that Ebgames wont get one either?

i dont know. if eb wont preorder too, i may just go to the mall. the only gamestop is on the west side of town.. its funny, gamestops tend to be out of reach of those who really want to go.

they are launching with 1 million units, so i don't think they will be as rare as we saw with the 360, and will see with the ps3

well that is just my opinion on things. i don't want to steer you in the wrong direction, so like i said earlier, it really can't hurt any if you bought a system to test the waters. if it works out, good for you....if not no real harm done as you should be able to take it back for full credit. just make sure you are aware and understand the store's return policy. i just don't want you to comeback sometime and say damn hade you ass, i should have never listened to you...

i figure i'll buy one w/ cash at launch, then use it for almost a year or untill it breaks and return it in a box after buying a new one, getting me a new ps3 for free.

thats why thjey planned it for the weekend after, where ps3 hopefuls were thrashed but not they need something to do till stock goes up. a few more people will be getting a wii becasue of the date, but nothing too significant. good edge being on a weekend too.
