hey gus, although I'm not sure why it took what probably seemed like forever to rip... the main question is was it a good rip? The thing I have mostly seen that can severly affect ripping times, and quality is amount of computer usage while doing the rip. I'm sure, being a senior member you know not to multitask while ripping and burning though right?

yes i know not to multitask when backing up dvds , i just wanted to hear someone elses results , alto i know this pos pc that i currently have is defective but i have to keep it until dell makes me the brand new xps 700 ( back order :( ) alto im getting it free cuz i have my extended warranty , lol the warranty only cost me 200 bucks and the pc cost over 2,300 dollars .....

anyways back to this umm i used clt alt delete i went to process and i cut down to the AVG process taht should be 40s ripping didnt go faster so i restarted shut down most of process that are running in background and that dvd took 20 mins .... alto i have another pc that is a good working one and im going to back up that movie there and see how were results ..... but the question is what was your time?

Have you defragged your hard drive lately? For me a 5gb would be about 20 to 25 minutes normally. If compression is required it will about double.
