Hello all,
I have serious problem with the FFDShow codec - I can't encode anything with it. I have installed (and uninstalled) numerous versions of FFDShow, have used wmv and mpg source files that are without errors, and have tried both TMPGEnc 3.0 and VirtualDub (in three or four different versions) as frontend. But I can't get a single frame converted. :-(

Whenever I select FFDShow as the encoder, I get "an error has occured" in TMPGEnc; when I select the MPG encoder, the same source file is converted nicely. When I click on "Display error message" with FFDShow, I just get a box saying "an error occured while trying to compress the image".

In VirtualDub (or VirtualDub-MPEG2), I get "Cannot start video compression: An unknown error occured (may be corrupt data) (error code: -100)". As I said before, the input streams are without errors and can be converted to MPG via TMPGEnc without any problems.

Is there any way I can get more useful debug messages than "an error occured"? What can I do to get FFDShow to encode properly?
