Forgive me if this is already covered elsewhere, I had a look and couldn't find a mention.

Recently, after downgrading from 2.71 to 1.5 and installing devhook, setting it to 2.71 emulation caused the blue error screen to appear.

I was kindly advised to format the memory stick in the Devhook support thread. This didn't solve the problem.

After a bit of research elsewhere, it seemed that for some reason I had to upgrade to 2.0 and downgrade to 1.5 again. I tried this and it worked a treat.

Worth a shot if you've been having that same trouble. Thanks to those who tried to help.

after using the 2.5/2.6 or 2.71 downgraders, the creaters of those downgrades recomend that you upgrade to 2.0 and then re-downgrade using MPH 2.0-1.5 Downgrader. this can be found on psp-hacks.com

Burdini, you first need the 2.0 firmware upgrade (after your initial downgrade)

Put that in the PSP>GAME>UPDATE folder and select it from your memory card as you would with emulators.

Then you'll need the 2.0 > 1.5 downgrader

Which works in pretty much the same was as your 2.71 downgrader. There's an overflow.tif to go in the psp>photo folder and a couple of other files to go in the root folder of the memory card.

Activate it by going into the photo section and some text should appear. If not reset and try again. You also need to do the same once it has actually changed to a black screen with white text.

The PSP reboots with the system settings saying it is 1.0 firmware.

Now you'll need the 1.0 > 1.5 upgrader

Which goes in the PSP>GAME>UPDATE folder (replace the other one). You upgrade as normal with the power cable plugged in of course but it ends with telling you of an error in the update. This is normal. You force a reset again and you should get the blue screen error which you use circle to continue from.

A few settings need to be set as the PSP boots again and you should then have the clean 1.5 firmware.

Just put Devhook 0.46 back on (probably best to wipe your memory card before this) and that will emulate 2.71 firmware if set to such. Keep your PSP on 1.5 firmware.

Just run devhook when you want to play any ISOs or a game that requires greater than 1.5 firmware. Once Devhook's firmware setting is set to 2.71 it remains that way it seems. Just remember to select your ISO (umd select) before selecting start. Oh and you'll probably need a UMD disc in the drive.
