i downloaded gtr2 for pc, and i'm having a problem...so there's a bunch of files from .r00-.r30 and i know that i should just extract them into the iso or in this case, .mdf file.
BUT the problem is.....:
.r00-.r29 and the final .rar file are associated with WinRAR, but .r30 is NOT (the icon, instead of the .rar icon, it's the one where windows would ask you what program you wanna open it with)
and that is causing me some problems with burning. when i do burn, what's on the disk is the image, not the game itself (understanding me?)
so, is there something i'm missing, or doing wrong? (currently i'm extracting the files and burning the final .mdf file)
what do i do w/ the .r30 that is not associated (or doesn't seem to be) with WinRAR?

my bad for posting in the wrong place.

please correct me if i'm wrong, but is it not legal to preview games this way? as long as i do not keep this version and buy the game or delete/get rid of it? all the people who crack games clearly state that these games are not meant to be kept and that we should support the companies who developed the game (and i agree with this).
and if you're wondering, i tried to install the demo, but for some reason, it doesn't work on either of my two computers.

please inform me

Question: Is all copying piracy?

Answer: No. Copyright gives the owner exclusive rights to reproduce, adapt, publicly distribute, perform and display their work. Nonetheless, the law allows "fair use" of copyrighted material. Fair use permits, in certain circumstances, the use or copying of all or a portion of a copyrighted work without the permission of the owner. Copyrighted works may be used for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research. To decide whether a use is "fair use" or not, courts consider, in part:
(1) the purpose and character of the use (including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes);
(2) the nature of the copyrighted work (giving creative works more protection than factual works);
(3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole (including size and quality- i.e. Does the portion represent the "heart" of the work); and
(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.

Courts balance these factors, placing an emphasis on the fourth, however rulings have been unpredictable. Parody may be protected by fair use where the user is actually making a comment on or criticism of the copyrighted material, even if a profit is made from the use. Still, distributing copyrighted software will rarely be fair use because people will use those copies instead of buying the software from the legitimate vendor.

Short answer:

Yes its illegal.
As stated befoire piracy is NOT condoned here.
Ask where you DOWNLOADED this files from.

No, that is ILLEGAL.
Either buy the game, or download a DEMO version, if there is one.
