DVD Burner and PS2 Backups

I have got alot of backups working...I used generic media, ritek g05, and even +r's. It seems recently all the games I have tried wouldn't work. Finally Disgea 2 worked, I realized I used my notebook to burn that one, all the others was on another computer. What I am getting at is does it matter what kind of burner I use? I have heard countless advice on what media to use but never anything about a burner.

I burn an .iso with DVD Decrypter at 1x. And I usually use ritek G05. I have had alot of success. This is a newer DVD Burner... Has anyone had success in switching burners?

You could try burning a bit faster. 1x isnt ideal for PS2 backups. I burn all my games on RITEK G05 as well (2000 of them) at 4x, which is 1/2 the disc's max speed. And have never had a duff burn yet.

Hmm you think that may help? I was always under the impression that burning slower was better. I will give it a shot though.

lol. So far good! The first dvd worked. Thanks Alot. Looks like I will be changing by burn strategy.
