God of war DVD5 problem

I did some searching and found out about the DVD5 of the game taking a while to load at the bluffs of madness but, has anyone ever had the game stop on them at the poseidon challenge where you fight the fire dogs? after I kill them all the shields on the doors don't go away, I can still move around with kratos but there's no where for me to 'cause the 2 doors still have the shields on them.

Just in case anyone else runs into this, I tried it again and it got passed that point but, the same thing happened in the next area with the red shield of the door not going away but, I could hear the gnarling noises that the enemies make yet there were none around so, I ran back a bit and went forward again and sure enough one of those small dogs was there after killing it the shield stayed up still so, I ran back and came forward again and another dog showed up, I had to do that about 3 or 4 times and after killing them the door opened up. I'm guessing the game somehow glitched and those enemies became invisible and I could not hit them and they could not hit me so it got stuck. Hope this helps someone else if they run into something similar
