Hi there

Ive just signed up to a usenet service and have got newsleecher but all I can find are text documents ?? there is nothing in the way of tv shows or mp3 etc

if someone could help that would be great as im very confused !

(im a newb to newsgroups)

Also, i suggest you try Grabit, which is easier to use for someone who's totally new to Usenet.

Sorry for another question but how "safe" are newsgroups compared to bit torrent? Im guessing quite a bit as bit torrent is always in the limelight of people getting caught downloading etc

On usenet, the only people that can see what you're downloading are the people that run the servers, and they don't seem to care.

how come i can not download from some groups, such as the ps2 and dvd one's?

i wondered why this is, could it be my isp, which is NTL is bloacking them?

if your using NTL newsgroups then thats probably why.
Its best to sign up to a usenet group like giganews etc where they will host all the newsgroups you want to download from
