Yes that should work. As long as youve got the right screws and you cpu cooler has space for a fan itl work!

And rogeball if he wants to get it on ebay then you shouldnt convince him out of it. You have many times told people within the last week that you dont know the answer or cannot help! Soo if you cant just dont say anything at all!
IF you aint got nothing worthwhile to say dont say anything at all!

not sure if i have read this right so i will just throw my 2 cents in.

that fan in the link you have posted is not a cpu heatsink fan its for a mobo chipset (north/south bridge) now im not 100% sure but i think it will be too small to fit on a cpu hsf. it is a 40mm fan on that so if the fan your removing is that size your in luck if its bigger you will need a bigger fan (60mm i think for your hsf). for example mines 80mm so i would need another 80mm fan if i wanted to change it.

now i think you would be better getting a complete new heatsink and fan for a couple of quid more. or if you realy like your hsf get an adaptor so you can fit an 80mm fan on a 60mm fitting and you will get much better cooling and you could get both off e-bay for about a fiver

@marsey

thats not always the case. What i do is the fans are all the same width so you can always connect the top two screws. And to be hounest thats all you need to kepp it. Unless youve got a busy schedule of LAN partys lol!

yes,you could keep it in place but, will it give enough cooling and how much noise will it make?

hes got it oc'ed and i think that a bigger fan would cool it a lot better with less noise. for me those are the 2 most important factors when it comes to heat sink fans.

edit

i would get somthing like this if i was you,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Akasa-80mm-Crystal...1QQcmdZViewItem

and use this to mount it,
