Hi I installed Nero premium 7.5.1.1. and imediately my pc started to act up. I have norton systemworks,Spybot,trojan-hunter,spysweeper,pc bug doctor,error doctor all installed on my pc which did find various infected files. I also ran the free online pc scan from microsoft, which also corrected a few things, but when I booted up my computer it was still not right. Eventually my friend told me to use avast virus scanner which I did and it found a virus which all of the above failed to detect. The virus was called WIN 32 TROGANO-CE [Trj] it was removed then I used the Nero 7 clean-tool to rid the Nero 7.5.1.1. version, and I re-installed my previous version 7.0.5.2. The only problem I have now is my right mouse button does not work so I cannot access folders to view properties - so if anyone could help with that problem I would be oblidged.

Where did you get these? Most of the anti-spyware software that requires payment to get is either garbage or contains spyware itself. This is true, to a somewhat lesser extent, of anti-virus software as well.
In any case, where did you get your copy of Nero 7.5.1.1 from? Also, 7.0.8.2 is the most stable, so stick with that for now. I can't find any reference to the trogano trojan, even on Avast's site.

-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
hi Dunker I obtained my copies of the various virus checkers & Nero versions from my brother who reguarly maintains my PC for me as he is the one in the family that is most into computers. I know he downloads some of his software from shareaza or friends in his workplace give him copies of various versions, and now & then he purchases the retail versions himself. That said, I agree with you Nero ver. 7.0.8.2 also seemed to me as being the most stable version, but it was actually on my computer my brother saw the Nero 7.5.1.1. latest version, and downloaded for me - then installed it only to discover that it contained this WIN32 TRJANO-CE [Trj] VIRUS which as I said Avast pro 4.7 found. The virus was deleted, but obiously something is still not right with my PC as I still can't right click on folders to view the properties etc. Other than that my Pc is working fine.
Sometime the things that are corrected don't really need to be corrected. Perhaps some file you really need was removed by one of your "Protection" programs. If you have an option to restore through the same software that corrected earlier, you might try that. You can't always assume the protection software knows about all the files that are needed.
If that won't work, you might be able to find something on the net about restoring system files.
You might be able to do a system repair if you have your original Windows disk. However, you will have to fully repatch.
One problem is that a system is never really trustworthy after having been infected. In other words, it's never really trustworthy after you've installed unknown software or software from a questionable source. The vast majority of the software on filesharing services, as well as crack sites, is virused/trojaned. The worst part is, lots of it uses custom code so it won't show up in anti-virus/spyware scans.
Which means you have to seriously consider a reformat.

Thanks everyone for your advice - I think I will leave my pc as it is because it's not a big problem really, and I can always goto "File " & select properties there if I need too. My brother is about to install a larger hard-drive to my computer soon, so I think he will reformat the old one soon once he manages to save all the programs I have to the new drive. Thanks again!
