IDEAL BURNING SPEEDS @ PS2 ?????

Hey! To start off, I have successfully burned "downloaded" PS2 games over the past 2 years at speeds of 1X or 2X.....I did this by simply using Nero (version 6.6). But, since i've installed the newer version (7.5), i cannot burn lower than 4X. WHY??? I even went back to v6.6 and numerous other builds incl. ultra/premium/lite versions. with nothing more than a headache.
BTW, I am still using the same media (PRiNCO DVD-R 1x-4x). For some reason, these media won't work at any other speeds. I'am surprised that others burn at 4x without any problems.
So, I ask:"What is the ideal burning speed for PS2 games? In my case, what's suggested while running Nero? And, does it depend on the media (not its quality, but its speed range)?

to me it really weir if i burn game under 4x my game won'twork on my ps2 v7. and it also read DVD+R better too. I don't know why is that though cuz i was tryingto back up Yakuza with 2x speed and it didnt work but when i tried it with 6x it works just fine and sameting with DDR Supernova.

Its Half the speed of the discs maxumin speedi Buy 8x ritek DVD-R's and i burn them at 4x and they havent failed me once at this speed
